Emergency Aid
Our Uganda-based team verifies urgent needs and coordinates time-limited assistance through communities where GVC has trusted local relationships.

How GVC Responds
GVC is not a general disaster-relief agency. We respond where existing relationships allow our local team to verify a need, coordinate responsibly, and remain present after distribution.
A community leader or trusted local contact tells GVC what has changed and why help is needed now.
Our Uganda-based team visits, documents the situation, and assesses the households involved.
The team builds a time-limited budget, purchases locally where practical, and coordinates distribution.
We publish what was raised, purchased, distributed, and learned through follow-up.

Active Response
A failed growing season left 47 of 49 assessed households with no food stored. Forty-five had eaten one meal the previous day; four had eaten none.
After the Emergency
After a response, donors should be able to see what happened. GVC reports the quantities purchased, households reached, spending, distribution process, and what the team learned afterward.
