What You Get

A real partner, not a website.

When you sign on as an educator partner, you get direct access to the Uganda team (Phoebe and Honest) for any questions, video calls, or content needs. Educators have built lessons across all levels, from elementary to AP Capstone and Hebrew school directors.

You can receive customized materials for your grade level, time constraints, and curriculum standards (CCSS, IB, AP, etc.). The goal is to support your teaching and make global citizenship feel as real as math class.

You get a digital packet: lesson plans, photos, video introductions from our team, and a contact in our Uganda office.

4

Project runs

Receive live support during the project, including video calls with students, real-time photo updates, and troubleshooting along the way.

5

Closing & reflection

End-of-project impact report tailored for your students. A clear "here's what we did, here's what changed" story they can share at home.

"My students went from 'helping kids in Africa' to writing letters to Hellen, who they now know wants to be a doctor. The shift was everything."

Common Questions

What educators usually ask

Is there a cost for the partnership?

There is no fee for the curriculum, materials, or support time. The only investment is whatever your school chooses to raise or donate, and GVC will help you do that successfully too.

What grade levels do you work with?

Partnerships support educators from kindergarten through college. Most materials can be adapted across age groups, with the main difference being in framing and project depth.

Are your lesson plans aligned to standards?

Yes. We tag our materials to Common Core, NGSS, IB, and AP standards where applicable. We can also map to your state-specific or school-specific standards on request.

Can we do a live video call with students in Uganda?

Yes, you can coordinate live video calls between your classroom and partner schools. While the time zone requires some planning (Uganda is 7 to 10 hours ahead of US time zones), GVC makes it work.

Do you work with religious schools or Jewish day schools?

Yes, many existing partners are Jewish day schools and religious schools. Our Uganda work includes the Abayudaya Jewish community, which makes the connection particularly rich for Jewish educators.

What's the minimum class size or commitment?

No minimum class size. The minimum meaningful commitment is one project (2–4 weeks). Anything shorter doesn't give students enough time to internalize the connection.
